The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) together with the tourism industry have exhibited in the three-day consumer fair MATTA 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition was held from 6-8 September 2019. Nine companies along with 14 participants represented the destination together with MMPRC.
This is the first time MMPRC took part in MATTA in our efforts to promote Maldives as the most preferred destination among the ASEAN travelers. MATTA provided the opportunity to interact with consumers as well as the industry professional and top travel trade partners.
The Maldives stand 1131-1136 located in Hall 1 was a 54 sqm space portraying the beautiful scenery of the Maldives. A number of activities were planned in the Maldives stand such as local food tasting, experiencing the Maldives through virtual reality and entertainment by Faiymini Boduberu Group.
MATTA fair is Malaysia’s No. 1 Consumers’ Travel Fair with 100,000+ visitors from Malaysia, ASEAN and the rest of the world.
From January to July 2019, tourist arrival from Malaysia was 13,006. As the ASEAN region is well connected to the Maldives, we aim to increase the arrivals and create significant market exposure for Maldives brand in the region with several marketing efforts.
